Tacchini
The brand Tacchini is an icon of Italian design. Founded in 1967 by Antonio Tacchini, the brand produces some of the most recognizable pieces created by international design studios such as Nichetto studio, Studiodepepe, or Pearson Lloyd. Impeccable quality, beautiful textiles, and soft silhouettes are key elements in this elegant portfolio of design pieces. And, of course, the latest collection exemplifies this brilliant and inspiring aesthetic.
The Collection
The Italian brand presents its new collection for 2024 — Life and Other Stories Home Collection, in a catalog filled with inspiring images. Among the photographs, warm but neutral tones, rich textures and organic materials stand out. And the warmth of these interiors contrasts with an austere home that is imagined among the dunes of an endless desert in Morocco.
"The austerity of the external architecture leaves room for the sensuality of the internal environments, modernity joins tradition and lightness embraces materiality," said the company in a release accompanying this new collection. "The contrasts become poetry and merge with the landscape. This creates a scenography that fully captures the essence of Tacchini's vision: warm and welcoming spaces where elegant furnishings with character stimulate reading, conversation, listening and conviviality."
In a way, this new collection is a testament to the life behind each object. Because —and this is the reason for the name of the collection— behind every product, there is a story, there is a life.
The Pieces
Among the images, we discover some of the brand's most famous pieces (such as their Sesann sofa, designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Tacchini in 1970, here in a delightful caramel-colored leather). But, of course, the latest releases from the brand are also prominently featured, including the Roma Nuvola sofa in white (a new addition designed by James Wagell).
In contrast to this fantastic earthy palette of colors, a couple of fluorescent details stand out: the Solstice wall lamp (a new creation by Studiodepepe), which looks more like a cutting-edge sculpture than a light fixture, and the striking Anni rug (also by Studiodepepe), with a furry fluorescent-yellow line.
Undoubtedly, the latest design trends are also present in this spectacular design collection, from curvaceous silhouettes to plush textures and organic materials. So much so that the curved lines of the Julep sofa (designed by Jonas Wagell) and the spectacular marble consoles (a new release from the brand in collaboration with Italian designer Lorenzo Bini) are true highlights of these interiors. Details such as fur cushions and velvety finishes also speak to the trendy vibes of the collection.
While the organic theme dominates the entire decor, there is no fear of polished and shiny finishes. Umberto Bellardi Ricci is the hand behind a new set of lamps, the Mano Light lamps, and a new ottoman (named Torus). The chrome finish of these pieces reflects the abundant sunlight of Morocco, creating a beautiful effect in the interiors.
